WE ARE THE CLEAN MOBILITY COLLECTIVE
We are a worldwide movement of organizations united around a common vision: to achieve fossil-free, healthy and safe cities for all. We believe we achieve our ambitions best when we co-conspire – sharing strategies, successes and inspiration with organizations at the forefront of the climate crisis across the world. That’s why we are a collective, supporting a network of members who commit to shared values, vision and goals, while promoting space for individual creativity and growth.
OUR GOAL
Unless we act now, the global transport sector will be the biggest source of new greenhouse gas emissions over the next 30 years. Delivery vehicles alone account for 19 million metric tonnes of carbon emissions in the 100 largest cities around the world. While some companies and governments have made promises for action, targets remain far too low and far too slow. We need 100% zero emissions deliveries by 2030.
We are working towards cities where the air is clean and safe, where companies are held accountable for their environmental impact, and where people come before profit. By building a powerful international movement, we can drive the urgent change needed to reduce emissions, improve public health, and protect our planet for future generations.
OUR VISION
Our cities need clean air, safe transport, and companies that are accountable for their impact.
Through our collective power, we can ensure that governments, companies, and societies prioritize people over profit. We envision a world where vehicles of all sizes don’t pollute, and where companies respect our streets, ceasing to contribute to climate and local pollution.
We passionately believe that societies that prioritize the wellbeing of people and the planet will lead to urban mobility that improves the health and quality of life for our communities. Together, we will make sure streets are for people, not pollution.
OUR STRATEGY
If we can push the big logistics corporations that are responsible for public health and climate impacts to commit to zero emission deliveries, a powerful precedent will be set for cleaner, safer and healthier cities. Corporate victories send market and political signals that allow other actors to fall in line.
To move these global companies, we need a coordinated, international strategy. That’s where you come in.
Local policies are often key to levelling the playing field for delivery companies. City and regional decision-makers have the power to hold companies accountable and enforce actions for cleaner, healthier streets.
Where federal governments can move slowly on fossil fuels and transport, local governments have political room and fewer partisan roadblocks around implementing policies that decarbonize our streets and create more livable communities. CMC aims to support local-level campaigning and connect groups working towards similar goals within and across regions.
CMC members have access to shared materials, guides, webinars, training courses and other centralized resources that support local and regional efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to build international relationships and foster cross-cultural learning.
